Mary Frances Glass, 97, of Maysville, Kentucky died Saturday, January 27, 2018 at the Ohio Valley Manor in Ripley, Ohio. Mrs. Glass was the widow of Chester Glass who died in 2001. She was formerly an assistant post master at the Washington Post office for twenty years, a member of the Washington United Methodist Church where she served in the Washington United Methodist Women's group, a member of Mason County Senior Citizen's, the RSVP Volunteers, the Washington Homemaker's Club and AARP. Mary Frances Glass, 97, of Maysville, Kentucky died Saturday, January 27, 2018 at the Ohio Valley Manor in Ripley, Ohio. Mrs. Glass was the widow of Chester Glass who died in 2001. She was formerly an assistant post master at the Washington Post office for twenty years, a member of the Washington United Methodist Church where she served in the Washington United Methodist Women's group, a member of Mason County Senior Citizen's, the RSVP Volunteers, the Washington Homemaker's Club and AARP. She had served on the Washington City Council for two terms and she was a Kentucky Colonel. Mary Frances was born in Mason County, Kentucky on January 1, 1921 the daughter of the late George and Elizabeth Detro Beckett. Survivors include her two sons, George T. Glass of Cincinnati, OH and John W. Glass, Sr. (Mary Ann) of Blue Creek, OH; her grandson, John W. Glass, Jr. (Darlene) of Blue Creek, OH and her step great grandchild, Morris Rigdon. Besides her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Rebecca Glass. Funeral services for Mary Frances Glass will be held at the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, January 31, 2018 with Rev. Paul Cropper officiating. Burial will be in the Green Acres Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Larry Beckett, Rocky Moran, Wayne Glass, Chester Martin and Morris Rigdon. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11:00 AM until the hour of the service. Memorials may be made to the Mason County Senior Citizens, 1679 Forest Avenue, Maysville, KY 41056.
